What do you get when you merge two trees? A FAMILY!

This blog is where stories from the lives of my children's ancestors are recorded and shared. If you are related to our kin, or knew any of my children's ancestors, and have memories or stories that differ from my own or have stories to share that may be unknown to me, I encourage you to add your perspective in the comment box below each post. I have discovered that when individuals share what they know about their common ancestors, their extended family story is not only richer and sweeter, but becomes a more honest reflection of our combined heritage, as well.

TITLE OF BLOG SITE

I've been asked if my children really do have ancestors who were Quakers, Shakers, and History Makers.  The answer is.....

Quakers?  Yes.

Shakers, the religion? No.  But people unafraid to shake things up?  Absolutely!

History Makers?  Every last one of them.  Some you'll find in history books, others simply made history by living modest lives, raising families, and enduring life's day-to-day challenges.

As far as I am concerned, they are all he-roes and she-roes.  Some may have lived with a bit more honor and integrity than others, but all deserving of our respect and gratitude.

When our computer gets back from the shop, I will hopefully be able to add photos to my first ancestor's story, just waiting to be upgraded from 'draft' to 'post'.

Hmmm..... I wonder if I can use my cell phone to take pics of the photos I'm waiting to scan, then upload them from my phone! I might just try that, since I just learned we may be without our computer until next week (sigh). wish me luck!
